Cuba Oil Co. and the Chinese company BGP signed a contract last November for the execution of a non-exclusive 2D seismic campaign that marked the beginning of a project that is part of the development program of the oil industry in Cuba and includes the

acquisition , processing and interpretation of 25,000 kilometers of high-resolution seismic lines in areas of the Special Zone for Development, the north and east-central areas, as well as the south of the country.

The initiative, one of the world’s leading companies in that activity and lasting approximately 12 months, is the largest of its kind ever conducted in Cuba and will allow the identification and evaluation of areas with potential for exploration of hydrocarbons.

With the same mother rock, reservoirs and seals of the Gulf of Mexico, particularly the Special Zone for Development shows 20 prospects capable of producing between ten thousand and twenty thousand removable barrels.
