Inclusive and safe school spaces for people LBGT will be the main claim of the Cuban Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia organized by the National Center for Sexual Education- Cenesex- held between 3 and 20 May.
The decision to dedicate the celebration to the phenomenon also known as homophobic and transphobic harassment or bullying in the educational areas, is backed by results of different investigations, as well as the services of legal orientation of CENESEX, which have detected it as a social problem that is urgent to face.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) ensures that discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in schools is a problem that affects all countries without exception and hinders the quality of education. The processes of teaching and learning, for their harmful effects on students.
The preliminary program includes actions known as the traditional Cuban Conga Against Homophobia and Transphobia by the central avenue 23 and other activities.
