On April 25, 1987 the Martin Luther King Memorial Center (CMMLK) was born in the Cuban capital, is a Christian-inspired macroecumenical organization which, from the Cuban people and its churches, contributes prophetically to solidarity and popular, conscious, organized and critical participation, committed to a socialist option.

They make this contribution from a conception of Popular Education and a popular, critical, liberating and contextualized theology and build the articulation of social and ecumenical movements, networks and campaigns that in Latin America, the United States and at global level, channel the solidarity towards Cuba. With a vocation of social justice, they support initiatives born of peoples and their struggles against neoliberal policies, free trade, debt and militarization.
