The Latin American Association of Zoos and Aquariums (ALPZA) is the most important regional organization that includes the most prestigious and influential zoological institutions in Latin America.

As such, its role is to facilitate the associativity of its members, as well as promote their integral development, with a focus on biodiversity conservation, animal welfare and environmental education.

He is also the representative of Latin America in the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) as well as other organizations such as IUCN and CITES, among others.

ALPZA promotes and certifies important conservation programs for  Latin American biodiversity.
