The Dakota was one of the most stunning buildings in New York. Built in the western part of Central Park, its distinctive architecture of renaissance style and its unprecedented luxury details made it one of the best known residential buildings in the city.
Here, at 5:30 this Friday afternoon, the President Miguel Díaz-Canel greeted a score of United States artists, philanthropists and cultural promoters, hosted by Robert de Niro and Jane Rosenthal.
In the corner of 72nd Street and Central Park West, “the Dakota Apartment House is the biggest, substantial and conveniently organized apartment buildings of this kind in the country”, wrote The New York Times in 1884, year when the building was finished.

The Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, met this Friday in New York with representatives from the travel industry and a group of executives from the US Chamber of Commerce, which gathers more than three million US companies.
Following the announcement of 17th December 2014, the aviation industry as well as tourism and the Chamber of Commerce, were among the main drivers of the opening with Cuba, started by President Barack Obama.
However, the new Republican Administration announced on 16th June last year, in the city of Miami, the hardening of the policy of blockade and new restrictions on travels.

STATES generally limit dual or multiple citizenship. When they allow it, they often apply the principle of “effective” citizenship (also known as active or master nationality).
The current Cuban Constitution does not allow dual citizenship. The new draft Constitution, which from August 13 through November 15 is subject to a popular consultation process, proposes the principle of effective citizenship.
