According to the Cuban Tourism Minister , Cuba just arrived at three million international visitors, an amount that is achieved in the midst of the campaigns organized from US  to discourage the flow of American visitors to the island.

February 14, 2018: In January and February of 2018, the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST) reached out to 156 U.S. tour operators and other service providers that have previously offered or currently offer trips to Cuba. Beginning in June 2017, the Trump administration announced a series of measures which have undermined and, in some instances, reversed the diplomatic and travel liberalizations put in place under President Obama. Most crippling for U.S. travel have been the State Department’s official Travel Warning advising “U.S. citizens not to travel to Cuba,” the steep cuts in diplomatic personnel in the U.S. Embassy in Havana and Cuban Embassy in Washington, and the bans on specific types of travel and business transactions.

U.S. Citizens Take Strong Interest in Cuba

HAVANA.- The influx of U.S. tourists to Cuba is one of the topics that draws much attention from journalists specialized in tourist issues, as evidenced at a meeting recently held here. As stated by professor Paolo Spadoni, of the Augusta University (Georgia, USA), if restrictions on the travel of U.S. citizens to Cuba were lifted, about 3.5 million of them would visit the island.

During his talk, the U.S. professor noted that over one million U.S. visitors could come to the island in the short term if the travel restrictions imposed by the government of president Donald Trump were lifted. Continue reading “U.S. Citizens Take Strong Interest in Cuba”

Delta Expanding Service to Cuba from Miami

Delta Air Lines announced Wednesday it will be adding a second nonstop flight from Miami to Havana, Cuba. Starting October 28, Delta will offer the new flight five times a week between Miami International Airport and Havana International Airport on Airbus A320 aircraft, which offer 16 First Class seats, 18 Delta Comfort+ seats and 123 Main Cabin seats.

Delta began serving Cuba again in 2016, connecting Havana with Miami, New York City and Atlanta. The carrier also became the first U.S. airline to open a City Ticket Office at the Havana sector of La Rampa, which was later expanded to accommodate increased customer demand.

Biotur 2018 Presents Columbus Land Route in Cuba

monumento-bariayThe launching of the land route of Columbus was one of the main novelties of the first working session of the Biological Diversity and Tourism Workshop, BIOTUR 2018, a nature tourism event in eastern Cuba, which takes place in Gibara.
This option of the circuit modality includes natural sites linked to historical events with duration of even days and six nights, in which tourists follow the Ruta de Colón through these lands, during his first trip along the coast of Cuba in 1492. Sometimes in boats, others in cars, tourist train or walking hikers will visit, among other places, the archaeological site of Cayo Bariay, the Monument erected in homage to the Encounter of Two Cultures, the Vita Bay and Gibara.

250 Bartenders Will Attend 22th Pan-Am Cocktail Tournament in Cuba

cocteleria-campeonatoHavana, Jul 18 (Prensa Latina) The Executive Secretary of the Association of Cuban Bartenders (ACC), Lizbeth Elias Muñoz, stated today that about 250 professionals have confirmed their attendance at the 22nd Pan-American Cocktail Competition IBA 2018 in Havana.
An official statement from the ACC said today that the event will be held on August 25-31 at the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel, to which representatives from Brazil, Mexico, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Cuba, among other nations, will participate.
